Holiday Traditions: A Musical Celebration

Kick off the holiday season with Holiday Traditions: A Musical Celebration

Holiday Traditions: A Musical Celebration will be (tentatively) held at 4:00pm on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Experience the heartwarming and inspiring concert, Holiday Traditions: A Musical Celebration. Held every year on the Sunday after Thanksgiving, this holiday concert features area high school choruses, the Alachua County Youth Orchestra and the Gainesville Youth Chorus.  In 2007, the featured high school groups were the Columbia High School Chorus, Eastside HIgh School Chamber Singers and P.K. Yonge Vocal Ensemble.  Under the direction of Dr. Russell Robinson and Professor Gary Langford, this event highlights the high level of artistic and cultural achievement throughout our schools and community. The young musicians (instrumentalist and vocalists) are extremely talented and they continue year after year to bring a smile and sometimes even a tear to the audience.

Held at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, the performance is taped by WJCB TV 20 and is rebroadcast on television on December 24th and December 25th.

Adult tickets are $12, child (under 12) tickets are $6 and group tickets (10 or more) are 10. VIP tickets, which include a champagne reception after the concert, are $45.
