Kick off the holiday season with Holiday Traditions: A Musical Celebration
Holiday Traditions: A Musical Celebration will be held at 4:00pm on
Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Curtis M. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
Kick off the holiday season and experience this heartwarming and inspiring concert!
The holiday concert features area high school choruses, the Alachua County Youth Orchestra and the Gainesville Youth Chorus and highlights the high level of artistic and cultural achievment from these schools and community groups.
These young musicians (instrumentalists and vocalists) continue to bring both smiles and tears to our audience each year. The groups featured in 2009 included
• The Alachua County Youth Orchestra
• Gainesville Youth Chorus
• Columbia High School Chorus
• P.K. Yonge's Vocal Ensemble
The tradition continues under the direction of Professor Gary Langford, Conductor for the Alachua County Youth Orchestra. In 2008 we said goodbye to Dr. Russell Robinson, the "Founding Musical Director" of Holiday Traditions after 12 incredible years of service.
The 2009 performance was taped by WJCB TV 20 and was rebroadcast on television on December 24th or December 25th, 2009. You can purchase your copy of the event in our online shop.
